Wrapping the Dream House

DERBY, Kansas --
No, it's not like wrapping Christmas presents, but wrapping your house can offer you big savings on your utility bills while protecting your house.
Last time we were at the Dream House, there was a lot of framing going up. Now it is beginning to look like a house. Ron Burris is onsite with his crew wrapping the home with a product called Tyvek.
"It holds out the air and the water from the house," said Burris.
Tyvek is a house wrap made of polyolefin. "Basically it's a milk jug," said Burris.
It feels much like paper with a plastic feel and the seams are sealed with a clear tape that helps create a good seal.
So how long does it take to wrap a house?
"Depending on the square footage of a house, about five, six hours."
So why did Ron get involved with the KSN Dream House for the Cure project?
"It's just an awesome cause. It benefits the Cancer Society," said Burris. "Clifford Nies -- he's the best in town. Anything to help Clifford out and the cause."
